Until she was 25, Sibylle lived in Germany. There she first earned an equivalent of an associate’s degree in Foreign Language Correspondence (English and French) and then a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Marketing.
In 1990 she was transferred by her employer, Burr-Brown Corp. (now Texas Instruments Inc.), to the marketing department of their Tucson headquarters.
She had her first daughter at TMC in 1993 and chose to be a stay-at-home mom. Her second baby, was born in 1997. Both girls were nursed until well into their second year of life.
TJ grew up in northern California and earned a B.S. in Aeronautics. After college, she moved to Los Angeles and while working as an engineer, she earned an MBA.
Upon the birth of her daughter, TJ quit her job in aerospace and became a full time June Cleaver!
Her second little Angel-from-Heaven arrived 3 years later. Needless to say, both were breastfed until they weaned themselves and toddled off to new culinary adventures! Her husband, Phil, was transferred to Tucson in 1994 and they have lived here ever since.
Both TJ and Sibylle joined the Tucson Birthing World as DONA certified Birth Doulas in 2000. They supported women and their families during the births of their babies for several years before they started specializing in lactation support. After working with countless moms and babies and completing all the necessary training TJ and Sibylle became IBCLCs (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants).
Since creating Mama’s Latte in 2006, TJ and Sibylle have helped over 1000 families in the Greater Tucson area achieve their breastfeeding goals.
